Spring Break Mission 2025 - Code of Conduct

This is the Code of Conduct for the “Spring Break Mission” 2025 Spring Break outreach trips from March 9th, 2025 through March 15th 2025 and March 16th, 2025 through March 22nd, 2025. Every participant going must read and agree to the following before going on the trip. This Code of Conduct is in effect from the time of departure for the respective trips until the vans return to the departure location of the respective trips.

  1. Prohibitions: The use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, illegal or controlled substances are prohibited while on Spring Break Mission as are:  

    1. Being in possession of or consuming alcoholic beverages (even if over 21), tobacco, illegal or controlled substances, or prescription drugs for which you do not have a prescription;

    2. Becoming under the influence of alcohol, illegal or controlled substances, or prescription drugs for which you do not have a current prescription;

    3. Cigarettes, e-­cigarettes, vaping, and chewing tobacco shall not be permitted at any time on the trip. 

  2. Weapons of any kind are prohibited during the trip.

  3. All participant(s) must be on site in their lodging by midnight, unless otherwise cleared with the Spring Break Mission coordinator(s).

  4. Everyone must be inside their rooms by “Lights Out”, unless otherwise directed by Hope Staff or Leaders.

  5. A buddy system will be used when participant(s) leave their lodging i.e. the rental property (or other housing). 

  6. The Spring Break Mission Coordinator(s) must give prior approval to all visitors coming to the lodging / housing or visiting a participant during the project. This includes family, friends, or new friends that are met during the trip. 

  7. This is in effect at all times. This includes leaving for jogging, other exercise, recreation or other tasks or activities. Ensure someone else on your team knows where you are at all times. Do not go anywhere alone (the bathroom is an exception).

  8. For the safety of everyone involved, men are not allowed in women's rooms and women are not allowed in men's rooms. 

  9. Bullying, sexual harassment, aggressive behavior of any kind, inappropriate or offensive language, and conduct that creates unresolvable conflict or causes disruption to the project are not permitted and are subject to dismissal pending severity of action, at the discretion of the Spring Break Mission Coordinator(s). 

  10. Directions from HOPE Staff and Leaders must be followed.

  11. Don't do anything to jeopardize your personal health or safety.

  12. Failure to follow this Code of Conduct will result in participant being sent home on the participant's expense.

Code of Conduct Agreement - read statement below:

I understand that if I violate any of these rules I could be sent home immediately according to Hope Church’s discretion. Also, if I witness any violations of the above code I will report it to a Hope Staff member immediately. I also understand that if I am sent home for violating this code, I will be responsible for paying for my own transportation back home.
